Dear readers,
I'm sad to see how slow the government is reacting to resolve the many critisms arising from those issues relating to Brunei's ownership of block L and M, Amirulrashids's fatal shooting incident, to the never ending daily false and intimidating news reports and viewers' comments on Malaysiakini's news portal. I think Malaysia should be awarded a grand prize for being such a liberal country that allows such things to take place without any control or action taken by the ruling government.
Why are all these being allowed while at same time the ruling government is continually being accused of unfair treatment towards minorities, shackling of free press, ill-treatment by the police etc? There is too much hypocrisy, so much double standards and the government is allowing all these to happen without assessing the consequences towards the well being of the nation as a whole. How much hate that flowed out of these pro-opposition internet news portal since the inception of the internet in Malaysia, if it can be measured, could have covered and smothered the whole country.
I urge the ruling government to be more concerned and start taking effective pre-emptive actions to ensure that the interests of the peace-loving majority are safely guarded. The government should utilize their internet-savvy supporters to be their eyes and ears of the cyber world. There is so much hate flowing out of these pro-opposition news portal that it shows on the faces of those who frequent these web-sites. Either the government totally bans these web-sites or start losing the rakyats' support through these cyber activities. The negative results are gradually showing, even since the last GE 12, and is expected to get worse as the GE13 is approaching and looming in the horizon.
