Dear fellow Malaysians,
It's been quite a long while since my last post. I've never lost track of current issues neither have I lost interest in malaysian hardcore politics. Now that I have some free time on my hands I think I should share some of my views with my fellow malaysians.
What is so wrong with the present BN government? NOTHING WHATSOEVER. Lately, most of us have been following the tune of the opposition, namely the DAP that has never been supportive of whatever the BN government has delivered or achieved. Before the emergence of PKR, the DAP had to go about inflicting all the damage alone. PAS seldom gave their support to DAP as there was too much discord between the two parties. Now that with DSAI back in Parliament the DAP has found itself a new willing partner or scapegoat of some sort. Unable to achieve much on its own the poor PKR gamely and willingly associates itself with the DAP, not surprisingly as its leader, DSAI, too has been craving for power for the past 10 years, and willingly supports the agenda of the chauvinistic chinese based party that ambitiously fights for the abolishment of malay special rights, equality for all races, abolishment of ISA, abolishment of bumiputra 30% equity holding, equal scholarships for all, etc etc
Well, for those young malays that never got interested in malaysian history but got carried away by the opposition's big gains of PRU 12 I suggest you start using your senses from now on rather than your emotion. The opposition is slowly gaining ground due to the single fact that the malays are not united. Every effort is now being done by the opposition to convince malaysians that BN is a corrupted party, umno is no longer relevant, pak lah must step down, DSN is too scandalised and must face a royal commission of enquiry to clear his name, and many more bla bla bla that sicken the ear. What the ordinary malaysians do not realise is that all these are the propaganda of the opposition and there is nothing wrong with the present BN government and the country as a whole.
No doubt corruption exists but we must give the present government the opportunity to eradicate or reduce it through the various measures taken so far. Even if the PR were to rule the country I have my doubts whether corruption can be eradicated in totality, it may even get worse.
The judiciary is also going through positive changes and like any other developing country it takes alot of effort and time to effect any positive change. Nothing can change overnight at national level. So, why the big hurry to change the government? The anwer is that the DAP is using DSAI as a scapegoat so that PR can come to power. Once in power, the PR government will gradually ensure that the contitution that favour the malays and the rulers will be amended or even abolished and new ones introduced that favour all races. Why all races? The chauvinistic chinese based DAP wants Malaysia to be like Singapore, where survival is only for the fittest and meritocracy rules the day. That should spell the end of 'ketuanan melayu' and any reference to anything related to 'bumiputra'.
Are we malays deaf or blind? We deafen our ears because we dislike pak lah (because he is not like the charismatic TDM?), we blinded our sights because we hate to see so much cronism, nepotism and abuse of power by certain quarters in UMNO (are other parties really free of these problems?). But there is hope at last, DSN is coming to power to help salvage our losses. Whatever negative perceptions we have of him please put them aside, as all of these perceptions were made up by the DAP and PKR. As for PAS, I don't see any head on problem with this predominantly malay party as it struggles for an Islamic Malaysia, as most of the malays do. I wish to see the wisdom of DSN doing a magic that can bring PAS together united with UMNO come March 2009. A united and surely strong malay race can promise an everlasting racial peace in Malaysia because the other races will never dare create any animosity with the malays. We must not sacrifice our special rights just to appease others for the sake of democracy.
